If you are like me you just can't bear the idea of taking down special photos, but if you have too many hanging it can look cluttered. Here are 3 simple tips to make these photos or artwork look cohesive. (Sorry about the angle of the photo, they are at the top of the stairs).
1. Black and White (or you could do sepia tone). The photos here are over an 8 year span but because they were all printed in black and white they look like I just decided to do them all at the same time. 2. Same Frame - If you notice my frames are not all exactly the same but they are all from the same line. (Gramercry by Larson Juhl) There are different widths, depths, and some have the silver edge. all have the same black finish and style. 3. Varied shapes and sizes - Make sure your photos are not all horizontal or vertical. It is also good to have multiple sizes. In my collage here I one that is 11x14, this is the biggest because it is our wedding photo and the "start" of our family. I have two 8x10s one with each of our newborns. Then an array of 5x7s and 3x4s that are my favorites. |
